Photo Gallery: Daigo Kobayashi at Japanese community eventHERE New England Revolution...小林大悟選手歓迎会と試合観戦のお知らせ On Sunday, April 13, recent Revs addition Daigo Kobayashi had the chance to meet members of the local Japanese community at a special luncheon. Hosted by the Japanese Association of Greater Boston, the event was held at Itadaki on Newbury Street.
Daigo met Akira Muto – the Consul General of Japan in Boston – who delivered a welcome speech to kick things off. The midfielder then mingled with party-goers and posed with fans for photos throughout the afternoon, including the restaurant’s Executive Chef Kaoru Fujishiro.
Another member of the Revs family also joined the festivities in Revolution Under-18 player Zach Herivaux, who is half Japanese and fluent in the language.

Unsung in the media, Kobayashi praised by teammates: “He’s been unbelievable” "Daigo reads the game so well. His first touch is one of the best in the league and his game awareness is world class. You can see he’s been in big games. He knows how to settle a game down, he knows how to win balls back and he knows how to pressure, so he’s been an excellent addition to our team."

Kobayashi an unsung heroPlenty of New England Revolution players have received recognition for the team’s early success in 2014, but their unheralded early hero might be 31-year-old Daigo Kobayashi, a technical maestro and one of only four Revolution players to appear in all 14 games so far. |
